The Flower's Curse

Join me on a one-of-a-kind adventure as a flower with a special gift – or rather, a curse. Let's call it an "Aqua Curse" which has been passed down through the ages and ensures I avoid water at all costs: no getting wet, no sipping from puddles, nothing.

But here's the twist: this curse can actually work in your favor! As we journey on, you'll discover ways to leverage this peculiarity to snag some amazing upgrades. So, let's make the most of being an awkward, water-shy flower and see where this adventure takes us!

How to Play:

  • Move left/right using your arrow keys (a/d)
  • Click on the card to take upgrade

Upgrade System:

Combine upgrades in strategic ways to gain an advantage, but remember that all upgrades come with costs and consequences. As you progress through the game, you'll need to weigh the benefits of upgrading against the potential drawbacks. Will you sacrifice some power for greater sustainability, or opt for a single powerful upgrade that comes at a steep cost?

+1 heart but -1 heart, stonks.

a mute or volume button would be pretty nice, and a pause maybe, tho I get it that maybe it's meant to be unpausable.
Really good visuals and the music slaps. Probably in the top 10 of this jam IMO, because to me, it doesn't have to be a complex game, it just has to be really fun to play. The art is good and looks well made.

Love the upgrade variety, though sometimes I got duplicate effects per choice, and some with positives that had a similar negative effect.

Very nice, love the aesthetics and the music! Some very fun ideas in there, the sun/moon guy is awesome.

Thanks so much for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the aesthetics, music, and ideas. It means a lot to me, especially coming from you. The sun/moon boss seems to be a controversial one, not everyone like it :) Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts!

the game is insanely polished, and its great but another gamedev had the same idea for how to tie the theme in, i hope its just a coincidence tho.

nvm a lot of games do this

Hi! Thanks for the feedback. I assume you are talking about the upgrade/anti-upgrade mechanic, otherwise it's pretty sad that someone would make a game about a cursed flower:(. For me, the origin of such a mechanic is Brotato, also the card was inspired by Balatro. I want to play such a game, if it also combines two of my favorite games, please share it with me:)

I haven't seen any other cursed flower games, I just seen the upgrade mechanic, but then I realized it's common, the game I was talking about is magic of consequences
