Are your sets of conditions right?

About

Critical Condition is a wave survival shooter with a twist: your weapons only fire when specific conditions are met. This game turns the traditional shooter formula on its head by making your movement and positioning directly control your firepower.

How to Play

ControlKey
MoveWASD
AimMouse
Switch WeaponQ/E

Getting Started

Your first weapon has very simple conditions: Move Left or Move Right. These conditions give you enough power to shoot from your weapon.

Once you finish your first wave, you'll unlock the shop with lots of components. Buy what you like and place them in your weapon.

Energy System

A critical aspect of weapon creation is the energy that components demand and supply. When creating a weapon, you must keep in mind how much energy it consumes to activate all effects.

Core Features

Conditional Combat System

Mix and match conditions and effects to create wild, unpredictable weapon combinations. The harder the condition to satisfy, the more Energy you earn to spend on devastating effects!

Roguelite Meta-Progression

Every run brings new unlocks! Level up to expand your arsenal of available components. With dozens of conditions and effects to discover, no two runs are ever the same.

Development Story

Originally, this game was planned as a 2-3 day project before New Year's as part of a challenge to make 12 games in 2025. But very soon I realized that I just wanted to keep making it more and more. It became a 2-month project.

While making this game, I was thinking about Noita's system and how it creates such complex wands from simple elements. At first, my approach was to make complex schemes for weapons—in early builds there were combinations of logical elements like AND/OR, chains of blocks, etc. This idea was declined after the very first playtest; such a system needs to be the core idea with all gameplay revolving around it, so it wasn't fitting for this game. However, the weapon slot system and the fact that you can equip 3 weapons were inherited from this idea.

After some time, I decided to focus on movement. Conditions that make you move are my exploration of the movement mechanics in vampire survival games.

I really hope you enjoy playing it as much as I enjoy playing it and achieving my record on the leaderboard!

FUN GAME. I had a good time playing this. Cute player character. I really didn't want to see him loss so as soon as the game started I was invested in making sure he survives. The game play and enemy spawn kept me engaged for some time. Would pay few bucks to play full game.

Very fun game I enjoyed it quite a bit however it is a bit easy. The weapon building reminded of noita in some aspects. I liked messing around with the different weapons to see which could overkill the enemies quicker. Overall be proud. This is a game I wouldn't mind spending a couple bucks play it being free is a steal.

Amazing game! very addictive, i had to play the windows version cause on my browser was too laggy, and on windows was fine, till i make a build with firerate and rockets ( too much rockets on screen ) and the game just closed on wave 20, but i def will try again. Congrats

Thanks! I remember playing your game from Acerola Jam! Really glad you enjoyed it!
